On May 28, 2025, WestJet officially completed its integration of Sunwing Airlines, consolidating all operations, aircraft, and billing responsibilities under the WestJet brand. This marks a major milestone in the Canadian aviation sector and requires a one-time billing update for airport users.
If your airport uses the ALFA Airport Revenue Management System (AARMS), the steps below will help ensure billing accuracy and data integrity through the transition.
WestJet Sunwing Integration Billing Steps for AARMS Users
1. Finalize Sunwing Billing (Up to May 27):Create a billing period ending May 27, 2025, to capture all activity related to Sunwing’s final day of operations.
2. Process a Separate Sunwing Billing Batch:
Create a dedicated batch for Sunwing only
Review all invoices carefully for accuracy
Commit the batch once verified
3. Transfer Aircraft to WestJet: Reassign all former Sunwing aircraft to WestJet in your AARMS customer setup
4. Resume Regular/ Monthly Billing : Continue standard billing processes. Sunwing Airlines movements from May 28 onward will be billed to WestJet.
Why It Matters?
This process provides a clean separation between the two carriers and ensures accurate billing through the transition. AARMS is purpose-built to support changes like these, offering flexibility, audit-ready records, and seamless customer management.
